Introduction


Acustica Audio products can be authorized using the Aquarius application and the Aquarius Web.


The Aquarius application is a free standalone application that will manage the downloading, installation, and authorization of your product in a semi-automatic way with minimal user intervention. To learn more about the Aquarius application, read the user's PDF manual included in the setup installer.


The Aquarius Web is a free web service that will manage the transfers and authorizations slots of your product in a semi-automatic way with minimal user intervention.


The anti-copy protection


The Acustica Audio anti-copy protection included in all products is based on a simple challenge & response system automated via the Aquarius application that requires the use of a reliable internet connection on the computer where you want to install and authorize the products. The Aquarius Web can be helpful to authorize computers without an internet connection, but it will be mandatory to use an additional computer to upload and download the authorization files with a reliable internet connection.


Commercial product authorization using the Aquarius application
  1. Log-in on the Aquarius application using your user-name email and your password.
  2. Click on the purchased page, and scroll down until you find the product you want to install.
  3. Select the correct plug-in format for the installation from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click on the install button.
  5. Aquarius application will download, install, and authorize the commercial product automatically.


Trial product authorization using the Aquarius application
  1. Log-in on the Aquarius application using your user-name email and your password.
  2. Type the product name in the search page, and the Aquarius application will find the trial product.
  3. Click on the install button.
  4. Select the correct plug-in format for the installation from the drop-down menu.
  5. Click on the install button.
  6. Aquarius application will download, install, and authorize the trial product automatically.


Commercial product authorization using the Aquarius Web
  1. Log-in on the Aquarius web using your user-name email and your password.
  2. Click on the purchased page, and scroll down until you find the product you want to authorize.
  3. Click on the settings icon.
  4. Click on the plus icon.
  5. Upload the computer identification file with the extension .SER into the pop-up window.
  6. Download the new authorization file with the extension .AUT from the pop-up window.
  7. Move the new authorization file to the same folder as your computer identification file.


Trial product authorization using the Aquarius Web


The trial product de-authorization using the Aquarius Web is not possible.


Commercial product de-authorization using the Aquarius application
  1. Log-in on the Aquarius application using your user-name email and your password.
  2. Go to the updates page.
  3. Select the product to de-authorize.
  4. Unfold the menu.
  5.  Select uninstall.
  6. Aquarius application will uninstall and authorize the trial product automatically.

The trial product de-authorization is not possible.


Commercial product de-authorization using the Aquarius Web
  1. Log-in on the Aquarius web using your user-name email and your password.
  2. Go to the purchased page.
  3. Scroll down until you find the product you want to de-authorize. 
  4. Click on the settings icon.
  5. Click on the trash bin icon of the computer authorization that you wish to delete.

The trial product de-authorization is not possible.


How the authorizations counter works
  • Authorization count for commercial products:

The Aquarius application will recognize if your commercial product has already been authorized in the current computer and will re-use the same authorization slot if it is available, saving your authorization slots. The Aquarius Web and the Aquarius application authorizations count are synchronized and you can see how many used slots and free slots you have for each commercial.

  • Authorization count for trial products:

The Aquarius application will not recognize if your trial product has already been authorized in the current computer and will use one authorization slot for each plug-in format, each computer, and each installation attempt. Be careful, try several installation attempts that can quickly end your trial authorization slots.


Important notes
  • Offline product installation is not possible.
  • A fast and reliable internet connection to use the Aquarius application and the Aquarius Web is mandatory.
  • Keep the Aquarius application up to date is mandatory.
  • You cannot just de-authorize a product using the Aquarius application, you must uninstall it.
  • You cannot install a product using the Aquarius Web, you must use the Aquarius application.


Avoiding standard errors with the authorizations
  • Avoid installing an obsolete trial version. Obsolete trial versions will not work even with a valid authorization file.
  • Only the latest trial version of each product will work.
  • Do not move the product files and folder(s) manually to a different path after installation due to the Aquarius application will copy with the authorization file into the Aquarius application settings installation path.
  • Do not edit or delete the product files create by the Aquarius application.
  • It is mandatory to run your audio host, DAW or NLE, as an administrator to generate a valid computer identification file with the extension .SER. The computer identification file will be created on the first plug-in load only if a similar file does not previously exist.
  • When reauthorizing with the Aquarius application not work, uninstall the product and then install it again.
  • You have finished your authorization slots, learn how to manage your authorization slots using the Aquarius web.
