Understanding different Acqua Effects presets types

There are different types of presets available with the Acqua Effect plug-ins.

1. No presets are available.
2. Standard presets.
3. AI presets.
4. AAX format presets.
5. Custom N4 presets.
6. Host (DAW or NLE) presets.
7. Preset toolbar.

1. No presets available:

In some products, there are no presets available.

If you find problems with the Acqua Effect plug-in preset, we recommend first uninstalling the product and reinstalling it using the latest version of Aquarius Desktop application.

2. Standard presets:

The standard presets are in the left plug-in zone. The standard presets are static presets that do not interact with the sound program available and the audio track.

3. Artificial intelligence (AI) presets:

We gave an artificial intelligence (AI) prototype plug-in to a group of selected audio engineers, and they processed the audio with this prototype by modifying the parameters at regular intervals. The prototype plug-in will generate a log file, and fill a special AI folder with information like the incoming audio attributes (frequency response, phase, loudness, etc.), each plug-in parameter value, the modification(s) lapse, etc.
To apply an AI preset, the end-user should play the audio program, and the plug-in will capture the audio information; then, the user should select the AI preset that he/she wants to use. The plug-in will apply the settings on the plug-in parameters according to the incoming audio and the information acquired with AI (artificial intelligence).

If you find problems with the Acqua Effect plug-in preset, we recommend first uninstalling the product and reinstalling it using always the latest version of Aquarius Desktop application.

Note: the standard preset will be unavailable when AI presets are present.

4. AAX format presets:
Sometimes, we provide additional presets in the host (DAW or NLE) format. For example, in El Rey Acqua Effect, plug-in standard presets are available for Pro Tools AAX format.

If you find problems with the Acqua Effect plug-in preset, we recommend first uninstalling the product and reinstalling it, always using the latest version of the Aquarius Desktop Application.

5. Custom N4 presets:

If you install an Acqua Effect plug-in as an N4 library format, you can save and recall your custom settings as standard presets for N4 using the N4 presets explorer.

6. Host (DAW or NLE) presets:

Each host (DAW/NLE) has a preset and bank system, Acqua Effect plug-ins are compatible with VST2 preset format (.FXP extension), and will work only if the host saves preset information in FXP open format. However, it transmits plug-in presets to the host plug-in window, which is disabled due to a possible recall issue.

7. Preset toolbar:

The preset toolbar allows you to save; load presets as well as perform an A/B comparison with two different parameter setups. Copy the parameters between both setups is possible using copy and paste buttons. The preset toolbar file format is ".acquapreset".

• Load: You can load presets created with the preset toolbar. The file format is ".acquapreset".
• Save: You can save your current parameters setting with the preset toolbar. The file format is ".acquapreset".
• A/B: You can switch between two different sets of parameters, setup A and setup B, to perform an A/B settings comparison.
• A to B (or B to A): You can copy the parameters from setup A to setup B, or vice versa, from setup B to setup A.
• Copy: You can copy the current set of parameters.
• Paste: You can paste a set of previously copied parameters.

Preset toolbar limitations:

• The preset toolbar is not available in VST2 format on macOS and Windows.
• The preset toolbar is not available on macOS 11 and macOS 12.
