The Aquarius Desktop application (ADA) saves downloaded files in the stage area folder. The path to the stage area is specified in the settings installation tab. When installing, reinstalling, or updating already downloaded products, the files in the stage area are reused rather than being downloaded again. This significantly accelerates the installation process.
If the files are unavailable in the stage area, they will be downloaded from Acustica Audio's cloud servers. The download progress can be viewed through the download bar in the product update strip.
- The default path for the stage area in macOS operating systems is "~/Documents/Acustica/Aquarius/" (without quotes).
- The default path for the stage area in Windows operating systems is: "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Acustica\Aquarius\" (without quotes).
You can purge installation files from the stage area at any time, but it is recommended to retain them whenever possible as a backup and to enhance download and installation speeds.
If you encounter an error message during the download or installation process, take a moment to read the message carefully and act accordingly. Although errors are rare, they can arise from issues such as locked files, inadequate privileges, or corrupted downloads, among other causes. In most cases, retrying the installation will resolve the problem.
If download or installation errors persist, the next step would be to purge the stage area and attempt a fresh installation of the problematic product.
Modern operating systems are designed to identify the boot disk as the primary disk, and all other disks are configured in a manner that renders them as non-secure. This means that users must take care to manage the permissions associated with the drive where the Aquarius Desktop Stage Area is intended to be hosted. It is essential to note that the operating system possesses the capability to revoke privileges that have been granted by the user. As a result, it is advisable to change the path to the Aquarius Desktop Stage Area only when it is absolutely necessary.
